2002 “Barns & Tractors” Calendar
“I often measure distance not only in miles, but in familiar barns and buildings along the way. My 2002 calendar documents six of the familiar barns along a route my family and I have traveled my whole life. This calendar also pays tribute to the tractor — the workhorse of most family farms. One of my favorite memories involves spending senior ‘skip’ day on the fender of a Massey Fergusen 1080 while my good friend Raurie disked a newly plowed field. Many people have contributed reference photos for this calendar, which I’ve listed on the inside back cover of my calendar (and posted here), but I’m especially indebted to two very special people — Esther Brooks and Ruth Zerbst, who have long influenced me with their creative talents and friendship. In creating this calendar, I hope I can pass their passion for noticing the good things in life on to you.” | ||
